Norm Kurtz, 2021 FJMC President’s Award Recipient

The FJMC President’s Award was created in 1965 and has been awarded only eight (8) times. The award provides special recognition to men for having incredible and long lasting contributions to FJMC, which may include a particular special program for FJMC.

Norm Kurtz was selected for this award because of his long standing service to FJMC.  Norm was the FJMC international president from 2007-2009.  Norm remains an active member of both the board of directors and the executive committee of FJMC.  Among his many accomplishments, Norm is the co-founder of the Rabbi Joel S. Geffen Foundation for Jewish Life Leadership Development Institute that trains current and future leaders of the FJMC.

Prior to a leadership role with International FJMC, Norm was president of the Beth Judea Men’s Club and  president of the Midwest Region of the FJMC.    He has served and is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Congregation Beth Judea.  He  continues to be active on the Interfaith Council of Mount Prospect, IL, and has been instrumental in fostering multi-faith dialogue in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.  Among other accomplishments, he spearheaded the effort that made a connection between the Turkish Muslim Niagara Foundation in Mount Prospect and Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove.

Norm is a stellar leader of FJMC and the Midwest Region FJMC and his local community. You can now place an ad to honor Norm. Just click the link for ad pricing and placement:
